VELSIPITY is believed to work by helping prevent some immune cells from leaving lymph nodes

VELSIPITY is an S1P receptor modulator. It's not known how VELSIPITY works in UC but it may involve a decrease in some immune cells reaching the colon.

VELSIPITY binds to S1P receptors to regulate the movement of lymphocytes (immune cells) from lymph nodes into the bloodstream.

It is thought that this helps decrease UC inflammation by lowering the amount of immune cells in the bloodstream that travel to the colon.
